Two physician leaders at The Jack H. Skirball Center for Cardiovascular Research—Medical Director Juan F. Granada, MD, and Director of Operations Greg L. Kaluza, MD, PhD—were recently honored for their research endeavors. The journal EuroIntervention chose an article by the researchers as one of the publication’s top five papers from the past year. The papers were published in a special May 2009 issue of EuroIntervention, the official journal of the annual EuroPCR meeting and the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions.
In their article, Drs. Kaluza and Granada discuss preclinical models of coronary atherosclerosis and vulnerable plaque that can be used in imaging and interventional cardiology research.
