Early Stage Technologies during Preclinical Research

The goal of translational research is to bring an innovative concept into the arena of human clinical trials. Our scientists and physicians develop the strategies needed to navigate and facilitate this process.

The Jack H. Skirball Center for Cardiovascular Research (SCCR) is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the investigation of novel concepts and treatments in a preclinical setting. The multidisciplinary team of researchers at SCCR has unparalleled expertise to guide early ideas and inventions through comprehensive research programs in order to introduce practical clinical therapies to patients. For early innovators, SCCR faculty serve as consultants during the beginning stages of a project, lending expertise, experience, and insight while working directly with clinical staff to implement efficient and rigorous research programs.

Translational research will be the legacy of the Skirball Center. We can help change the way people think and act about the best way to manage cardiovascular disease.

SCCR accommodates studies at every stage of the development cycle, from early concepts to protocol implementation. Whether a project requires physician specialists to help define a clinical application or highly qualified researchers to carry out a preclinical study, our partners—which include start-up enterprises, pharmaceutical firms, medical device companies, and academic research centers—benefit from our insight and experience in the biomedical industry.

SCCR sets the stage for applications that will translate into early patient studies and new treatments, resulting in longer healthier lives.
