Supported by Abbott

Room: Michigan, Sheraton Grand Chicago

Overview/Learning Objectives:

Physicians who are not currently MitraClip implanters will receive a therapy and procedural overview with hands-on demonstration.

Target Audience:

This workshop is intended for Non-MitraClip Implanters.

Agenda

  • MitraClip Therapy Indication Overview
  • MitraClip NTR and XTR Procedural Overview
  • Hands-on Device Heart Modeling

Supported by Abbott

Room: Michigan, Sheraton Grand Chicago

Overview/Learning Objectives:

Physicians will come away from this course with a greater understanding of the anatomy of the arterial septum and its surrounding structures via heart dissection, as well as the imaging assessments of patient foramen ovales and the procedural nuances of closure/trans-septal access via simulation.

Target Audience:

This workshop is intended for interventional or imaging physicians who are interested in the Amplatzer PFO occluder.

Agenda

  • Anatomical Review of Structural/Congenital Defects via a Heart Dissection
  • Associated TEE/ICE Imaging Standard Vews
  • Hands-on Device Simulator for Trans-septal Access, PFO and ASD Implantation

Supported by Abbott

Room: Michigan, Sheraton Grand Chicago

Overview/Learning Objectives:

This workshop will discuss the advantages of a fully resheathable transcatheter aortic valve and allow attendees to experience the trackability, flexibility, and responsive delivery features of the Portico TAVI system in unique anatomies (case-in-a-box reviews).  Attendee will also learn to implant Portico in a Beating Heart Model.

Target Audience:

This workshop is intended for physicians practicing in EMEA and all countries within Asia and Latin America that accept CE mark and where the product is commercially available.

Agenda

  • Device Handling
  • Hands-on Beating Heart Simulator

Supported by Medtronic

Room: Superior, Sheraton Grand Chicago

Overview:

Advance your skill set, and build an essential foundation by attending the Fundamentals of Cardiac Anatomy and Imaging Correlation (Fellows ONLY) training program. Expert faculty will provide didactic learning followed by hands-on workshop application using pig hearts and imaging stations.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, the attendee should be able to:

  • Understand the basic heart anatomy.
  • Identify various imaging modalities for structural heart therapies.
  • Gain hands-on experience using pig hearts and imaging stations.

Target Audience:

This hands-on workshop is intended for Fellows currently in the following fellowships – 3rd year cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Structural Heart, and Cardiothoracic Surgery – interested in learning more about anatomy and imaging during structural heart procedures.

Overview:

Advance your skill set, and build an essential foundation by attending the interactive TAVR in Bicuspid Aortic Valve Training Workshop. Expert faculty will provide didactic instruction, case demonstrations, and hands-on workshop application using real-world case examples and 3D imaging software.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, the attendee should be able to:

  • Diagnose bicuspid aortic valves and classify by Sievers type.
  • Measure anatomical sizing criteria using 3D multi-planer reformatting software.
  • Plan implantation approaches to various hypothetical patient examples.

Target Audience:

This hands-on workshop is intended for experienced TAVR implanters who are interested in learning about the latest developments in treating bicuspid aortic valve patients with transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedures.

Overview:

Advance your skill set, and build an essential foundation by attending the interactive Aortic Valve-in-Valve Training Workshop. Expert faculty will provide didactic learning followed by hands-on workshop application using simulators, wet models, and devices.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, the attendee should be able to:

  • Understand the index surgical procedure completed by the cardiac surgeon when implanting stented and stentless surgical valves.
  • Describe and deal with unique challenges of TAV in SAV procedures and their mitigations. Examples include TAV in Stentless SAV, managing residual stenosis, and use of recapture features.
  • Appreciate complex TAV in SAV challenges through use of hands-on models and simulation tools.
