Cell Therapy Conference

Braving a snowstorm and bone-chilling cold, nearly 150 attendees from around the world gathered in New York City January 22-24 for the Ninth International Conference on Cell Therapy for Cardiovascular Disease, directed by Warren Sherman, MD, of Columbia University Medical Center and the Cardiovascular Research Foundation.

Participants discussed the latest on the use of stem cells to treat patients who have had a heart attack or are suffering from heart failure or peripheral arterial disease. Presentations detailed the results of studies exploring different types of cells and protocols and offered a preview of upcoming clinical trials.
