WHAT & WHO:

For many, the holiday season can be a hectic time filled with stressful situations that are difficult to navigate while trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle and mindset.

The Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) will hold a free seminar, “Be Your Best Self: Staying Heart Healthy During the Holidays,” on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in New York City. The seminar, part of a series of Mini-Med School seminars conducted by the CRF Women’s Heart Health Initiative, will focus on providing attendees with practical strategies for mindful eating, managing stress, and staying healthy during the holidays.

The program will include the following presentations from renowned cardiology and meditation experts as well as a Q&A session in which attendees will be able to ask questions:

WHY:

Despite prevention efforts and advances in treatments, heart disease remains the number one cause of death for women in the United States. According to the AHA, 80% of heart disease and stroke events may be prevented by lifestyle changes and education. Unnecessary stress, especially around the holidays, can lead to a wide variety of health problems including heart disease. CRF is committed to helping women manage stress more effectively to improve the health of their minds and hearts.
