Communications Policies for Industry
Press Room and Press Briefing Policy
Only members of the media with a credentialed press badge will have access to the Press Room during hours of operation.
Executives, researchers, investigators, and industry leaders who are participating in press briefings, scheduled press events, and media interviews will have access to the Press Conference Room during these activities. These individuals may be accompanied by their public relations representatives (a maximum of three individuals in total) during these activities.
Public relations and industry representatives will not have access to the Press Room and are prohibited from soliciting media in or around the Press Room. They may, however, call upon the Press Room staff to help them facilitate media requests. Company or product literature, statements, or news releases may not be distributed in the adjacent hallways and areas around the Press Conference Room and Press Room.
Only pre-approved media materials may be made available in the press area. Press releases must mention Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) and the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) in order to have them placed in the press area (see News Release Policy.)
Hosting Media Events during TCT 2018
Exhibiting companies are permitted to hold on-site media events at the San Diego Convention Center during TCT provided that they relate directly to research presented at TCT 2018 and do not conflict with official TCT 2018 press activities or policies.
Companies planning on-site media events are required to obtain written approval from CRF in advance of the meeting by contacting CRF’s Director of External Relations, Irma Damhuis at firstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally, companies must coordinate timing and location with the CRF Press Office, which will facilitate requests for convention center space during the conference. Space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Exhibiting companies are asked to hold their off-site press events or analyst briefings during dates and times that do not conflict with official TCT 2018 press activities. A final schedule of media events will be available from the CRF Press Office a few weeks in advance of TCT 2018.
Media, investigators, organizations issuing press releases, and others with access to research accepted for presentation during TCT are required to abide by the embargo policies governing the TCT scientific symposium.
The Cardiovascular Research Foundation embargoes information presented as late-breaking clinical trials or science. Coverage of these studies is strictly prohibited until the start time of each trial’s official Main Arena presentation as listed in the TCT 2018 Program on the official TCT website. No journalist, exhibitor, or university (or affiliated organization or company) may disseminate information until the trial’s official Main Arena presentation time. All embargo times are listed in Pacific Time (PT). There are no strict embargoes for research presented as Keynote Interventional Studies, oral abstracts, or poster abstracts. However, to maximize the impact of your presentation we recommend that no data be shared until the start of the TCT meeting (Friday, September 21, 2018 at 8:00 AM PT), and ideally not before your formal presentation.
Violation of TCT embargo policies can result in removal of the research from the scientific program, removal of individuals and/or companies from the meeting, and revocation of media credentials. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to know whether its data is subject to the embargo regulation.
For questions regarding the embargo policy, please email email@example.com.
News Release Policy
Industry may display news releases in the press area provided they adhere to the following policy:

… presented at the 30th Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), the annual scientific symposium of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation.
Media Attendance/Media List
The TCT scientific symposium routinely attracts more than 100 medical and business reporters from a wide range of disciplines, including national wire services, newspapers, U.S. and international trade publications (cardio/pharma/medical/device), and popular news and health-information websites.
The Cardiovascular Research Foundation does not provide a media or attendee registration list of any type.
Recording (Audio, Video, and Still Photography) and Social Media
CRF promotes the free interchange and rapid dissemination of educational content from our meetings. The slides from CRF-sponsored courses and symposia are immediately posted on TCTMD.com to facilitate scientific discourse and enhance patient care. Non-flash photography and audio or video recording using hand-held equipment, for strictly personal, educational, and/or social use, are permitted at all CRF meetings if not disruptive. Communicating through social media, including posting brief audio and video clips, is strongly encouraged (respecting embargo rules for late breaking science). However, posting or live streaming of entire sessions or live cases (the latter to respect patient privacy), and use of any CRF course content for commercial purposes, is strictly prohibited. Exhibitors may film, record, or photograph activities at their own booth for promotional purposes only upon prior written consent of CRF.
These policies were last updated August 27, 2018, and are subject to change. Please check with the CRF Press Office for further updates.
