NEW YORK – June 24, 2023 – Rebecca Hahn, MD, was presented with the 2023 Physician Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) in honor of her outstanding achievements in cardiovascular ultrasound. Dr. Hahn was recognized among her peers on June 24 during the ASE’s annual Scientific Sessions at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.

A leading authority in echocardiography, Dr. Hahn joins an illustrious group of past awardees including Drs. Arthur J. Labovitz, Robert Levin, and Catherine M. Otto, among others. The ASE Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a physician or sonographer with a career in cardiovascular ultrasound spanning at least 25 years who has served as an exceptional role model through service, research, and teaching. 

In addition to being Director of Interventional Echocardiography at the Columbia Structural Heart & Valve Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Dr. Hahn serves as Chief Scientific Officer, Echocardiography Core Laboratory at the CRF Clinical Trials Center. She is a dedicated faculty member for numerous CRF meetings and a Program Director of TVT: The Structural Heart Summit. She is also a Professor of Medicine at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Previously, she directed the Echocardiography Lab at North Shore University Hospital and, before that, was the Director of Clinical Echocardiography at Cornell University. Dr. Hahn received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and completed her internship, residency, and fellowship at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center.
