To attend the 24th Annual Interventional Fellows Course, US and Canadian Fellows must complete the application and submit it to the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF), the course sponsor, for consideration. Once received, the application will be reviewed by the course organizers.
The Interventional Cardiology Fellows Course can accommodate a limited number of Fellows. For an application to be considered, the applicant must be included in one of the following categories:
- A CURRENT 1st or 2nd year Interventional Cardiology Fellow in an ACGME accredited program (US only). These applicants will be granted first priority, if the application is received on or before Wednesday, February 21, 2018. After that date, a spot in the course cannot be guaranteed, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, depending upon availability.
- A CURRENT 1st or 2nd year Interventional Cardiology Fellow in a non-ACGME accredited program (US only). These applicants will be granted second tier status, if the application is received on or before Wednesday, February 21, 2018. After that date, a spot in the course cannot be guaranteed, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, depending upon availability.
- A CURRENT Fellow in the 4th year of a Cardiovascular Disease/General Cardiology ACGME fellowship program (US only). Applications will be processed after Wednesday, February 28, 2018, on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability.
- A CURRENT Fellow in the 3rd year of a Cardiovascular Disease/General Cardiology ACGME fellowship program (US only). Applications will be processed after Wednesday, February 28, 2018, on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability. Please register under your current fellowship program.
- A CURRENT Fellow in their 1st or 2nd year of an Interventional Cardiology or 3rd or 4th year of a Cardiovascular Disease/General Cardiology Canadian fellowship program. Applications will receive third tier status and be processed after Wednesday, February 28, 2018, on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability. Please register under your current fellowship program.
Please note that non-US and non-Canadian Fellows and 1st and 2nd year Cardiovascular Disease Fellows may attend on a paid basis. Please refer to the registration page for more details.
For those Fellows accepted into the course, CRF will reimburse coach air travel (up to USD 360) and book and pay for up to four (4) nights of housing at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek (room and tax only). There is no registration fee to attend the Fellows Course for qualifying Fellows. Ground transportation, meals outside of course functions, guests' travel/expenses, and other miscellaneous expenses are not reimbursable and are the responsibility of the attendee. Additional details will be provided to accepted Fellows. FULL participation in the Fellows Course is expected.
Once the complimentary registration quota is filled, registration is available on a paid basis.
Explanation of Application Process
What happens after my application is submitted?
You will receive an email confirmation containing a form for your Fellowship Program Director’s endorsement. Once complete, you may upload or email this form to CRF.
Note: Your application will not be considered, and therefore you will not be accepted into the program, without this completed and signed form.
When will I receive notification?
A 1st and 2nd year Interventional Cardiology Fellow in an ACGME or non-ACGME accredited program (US only) will receive an email notification by Wednesday, February 28, 2018.
A Fellow in a 3rd or 4th year of an ACGME Cardiovascular Disease fellowship program (US only) will receive an email notification by Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
A Canadian 1st or 2nd year Interventional Cardiology Fellow and 3rd or 4th year Cardiovascular Disease Fellow will receive an email notification by Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
My application has been accepted. What happens next?
You will receive an acceptance confirmation letter via email. This letter will include information about selecting industry supported workshops, housing details, and travel arrangements. Please do not book any airfare or hotel rooms prior to receiving an acceptance email, as you will not be reimbursed unless you use our specific companies.
Note: Please do not contact CRF to confirm your Director's form has been received. You will be contacted if we have not received your form by the deadline. Do not mail your form to CRF.
My application has not been accepted. Are there other options available to attend this course?
Registration is available on a paid basis. When registering, you will be asked, “Are you currently enrolled in a US or Canadian fellowship program?” Please select "No,” and follow the registration steps.
What is the meeting cancellation policy?
In the event of a need to cancel, please notify CRF no later than Monday, March 19, 2018. Fellows who cancel their attendance at the course will not be reimbursed for any expenses, including travel or hotel cancellation charges. Please see below for hotel information.
Fellows Housing at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek
Housing (room and tax only) is booked and paid by the course sponsor for fellows whose applications have been accepted. Fellows attending the course must arrive into Orlando on Thursday, April 12, 2018, by 4:00 PM (ET), and may depart any time after 5:00 PM (ET) on Sunday, April 15, or any time on Monday, April 16. As a part of registration at the hotel, you will be asked to provide a credit card to guarantee your housing. In the event of a late cancellation, no-show, late arrival, or early departure, you may be invoiced for up to a four (4) night stay.
Note: Those accepted in the Fellows Pre-Course must arrive at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.
Extra Person Charge: There is an additional charge of $25.00 per occupant, per night, above 2 occupants per room. A maximum of 4 people are allowed in a room. This charge is the responsibility of the guest.
Hotel Resort Fee: The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek has a daily hotel resort fee that is not covered by CRF for accepted or paid Fellows Course Attendees.
A Hotel Resort Fee of $25.00 per day, per room (inclusive of tax) will be optioned to each guest upon check in. All Resort Fees are to be paid on your own by the guest upon arrival. This fee includes: Unlimited access to in-room local and toll free calls, standard Wi-Fi access throughout the resort and public areas (excluding meeting space), access to the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club practice facility (driving & putting range) with complimentary equipment rentals, access to fitness center, and 10% off Spa Treatments at the Waldorf Astoria Spa. Should the guest choose opt out of this Hotel Resort Fee, he/she will be charged the below a la carte pricing for the Resort Fee items:
- Unlimited internet when accessed through the in-room iMac computer: $14.95 per day.
- Gym access for all registered guests in party per person: $10.00 per day.
- Access to the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club practice facility (driving & putting range) with complimentary equipment rentals: $25.00 per day.
These charges are NOT reimbursable.
Housing Cancellation Policy: If you have housing at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, your reservation must be cancelled within the policy of the hotel (72 hours), or you will be invoiced for up to a 4 night stay. This charge will not be reimbursed by CRF. Please email with your cancellation request.
Fellows Travel Arrangements
It is requested that air travel arrangements be made through Ultramar. The credit card provided will be used by Ultramar to book your airfare. The charge will not be made to your credit card until you have approved the itinerary. Ultramar needs final approval from CRF prior to finalizing the booking.
If accepted, information will be provided via email on how to book your travel and the reimbursement policy. FULL participation in the Fellows Course (and for those accepted, the Pre-Course) is required for reimbursement and a stipulation of being accepted. You will be reimbursed the cost of the airfare after attending the full meeting and submitting an online evaluation and paper reimbursement form. Travel must be booked by the provided deadline or your spot is the Fellows Course will be forfeited to another qualifying Fellow.
Ground transportation will not be reimbursed with the exception of Fellows who chose to drive to the Fellows Course and not utilize air travel. In this case, reimbursement will be provided for car mileage. Additional information on Fellow Course travel will be emailed to all accepted Fellows.

All cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received in writing before 5:00 PM (ET) March 7, 2018, will receive a full refund less an $100 administrative fee. Cancellations received between 5:01 PM (ET) March 7, 2018, and 5:00 PM (ET) March 28, 2018, will be refunded 50% of the registration fee. No refunds will be processed after 5:01 PM (ET) March 28, 2018, or for no shows.
